Live Your Yoga & RYT 200 Teacher Training Program

BIPOC Scholarship Information

Yoga Garden Pittsboro recognizes the need to create greater diversity in the Yoga community from both the student and the teacher perspective.  Yoga Garden is committed to making our studio more inclusive and accessible to indigenous people and people of color, as well as to improving equity in Yoga by helping the BIPOC community overcome the barriers that exist in both Yoga training and practice.

Yoga Garden Pittsboro is very pleased to be able to offer two BIPOC scholarships to our 2022 Live Your Yoga & RYT 200 Teacher Training Program.  We are very grateful to the Chatham Economic Development Corporation for underwriting these scholarships. 

Eligibility Requirements 

  • Self-identify as an indigenous or person of color

  • Have some yoga experience

  • Be able to attend all the dates of the training

  • Intend to teach yoga after completing the training

Program Policies & Information  

Outlined below is basic information regarding the program, including dates, tuition, and the application form. Our program will certify graduates at a level exceeding the Yoga Alliance 200 Hour Teacher Training requirements and is offered to anyone with at least 6 months of regular yoga practice with a qualified teacher who wants to formalize their study of Yoga in order to Live Your Yoga.

Covid-19 Policies: As of October 2021, we are requiring proof of vaccination for our teacher training program. We do not require masking during yoga or pranayama practice. We reserve the right to alter this policy should the situation with Covid-19 change in the months leading up to the start of and during our training as policies and guidelines evolve with the current situation.

Requirements & Other Considerations:

❖  100% Attendance is mandatory.

If any dates must be missed, please let us know ahead of time when possible. We will make every effort to work with your individualized needs, while upholding the integrity of the program. Missed sessions may be made up in person and billed at an hourly rate ($65/hr). On a case by case basis and with prior approval from the lead instructor, students may be able to attend sessions via livestream, at the lead instructor’s discretion. This option is reserved only for true emergency situations.

❖  Daily Asana, Pranayama & Meditation Practice (home study or in class setting)

❖  7 required textbooks (not included in tuition) 

❖  Attendance in a weekly class at Yoga Garden or other facility if out of town

❖  20-classpass for Yoga Garden PBO is included in your tuition.

❖  Research Papers And Class Reviews

❖  KarmaYoga–9 hours of Volunteer Service (does not have to be yoga related)

❖  10 Hours of Student Teaching Towards the end of program

❖  10% off any class pass through the end of the program with Yoga Garden

***Yoga Garden reserves the right to postpone or cancel the training if the required minimum of registrants is not met, or if Covid-19 prevents us from meeting safely in person.
