Carrying You with Us on the Journey by Lexie Wolf
As many of you know, Bill and I are on our way back to India as you read this. After a restful and meaningful winter solstice season, I’m loving the energy of beginning the year with an adventure. We’re returning to Sattva Yoga in Rishikesh, in the foothills of the Himalayas. There, we’ll spend about three weeks immersed in their Master Level teacher training, followed by a week of exploring Kerala in the southwest of India.
We’ve been eagerly anticipating this return. The teachings we received at Sattva in 2024 profoundly shifted the way we practice, teach, and understand yoga—and, honestly, the way we live our lives. There are infinite paths toward personal and spiritual evolution, and we feel deeply grateful to have found one that resonates so fully with us.
What makes this visit especially meaningful is that this time, we’re returning with you in mind. When we returned from our first training, we weren’t sure how these practices—some of which look and feel quite different from what many of us are used to in the West—would be received. While we weave elements into our asana classes, it’s been through our monthly Kriya Journeys that we’ve shared the heart of this tradition. And wow - the way so many of you have met those journeys with openness and enthusiasm—and keep returning—has been profoundly moving for us. We love you, yoga family.
Walking this path with Bill makes it all that much sweeter. Bill is the best travel companion I could ever ask for in this phase of the great journey of life. To learn, evolve, and love within the container of such a steady, supportive partnership feels like a divine gift.
I’m probably already missing home and all of you as you read this. I do love my cozy, sweet life a whole lot. And I also know how necessary it is, for me, to step outside of it from time to time.
One of us will share a few reflections next week about how it’s all unfolding.
