Y12SR is an innovative addiction relapse prevention program that combines the wisdom of yoga with the practical tools of 12-Step recovery programs.
Each meeting consists of both a 12-Step-inspired sharing circle and a guided yoga practice, incorporating movement (asana), breathwork (pranayama), and meditation—an approach described as “taking it to the mats.” The yoga practice is designed to be accessible to individuals of all body types and experience levels.
In this extended class, we will start with pranayama (breath work) and mantra, followed by an all-levels asana practice designed to open the body and to move prana throughout the systems, preparing the body for meditation and making us more receptive to our divine nature. Participants are encouraged to work at their own level, and explore the sensations that arise
