Important Studio News by Lexie Wolf
Dear Yoga Garden community,
With a full and deeply grateful heart, I’m writing to share that Yoga Garden will be closing its doors this May.
For nearly nine years, our little studio has been a place of practice, connection, care, and growth. It has been one of the great privileges of my life to steward this space and to walk alongside so many of you through seasons of change, on and off the mat. Though I’ve served as its steward, Yoga Garden has never been mine alone—it has been a living co-creation, shaped by its teachers, students, and the larger community that made it what it is. Thank you so very much for that.
I’ve been sitting with this decision for over a year. As I’ve been diving ever more deeply into my own teaching and personal practice, I’ve come to recognize that I no longer have the same energy and enthusiasm for holding this space. And holding it well has always required healthy amounts of both. This recognition has been tender, honest, and ultimately clarifying. Learning this past fall that a large construction project would soon be unfolding on two sides of us offered the final nudge I needed to choose completion.
As part of this transition, the building has been sold and will eventually be torn down as part of that project. I know this may feel tender—especially given the care we’ve taken to preserve the space and the mural so many of us love. I am holding both grief and gratitude as I release the physical form of Yoga Garden, practicing the letting go this moment asks of me, and trusting that what truly matters has never lived in the walls.
One of the gifts of Yoga is that it invites us to stay present for the full cycle of life—creation, sustenance, and dissolution. In this season, my hope is to fully experience what it feels like to meet endings with honesty, tenderness, and reverence, trusting that completion is an essential part of renewal. All that rises from Yoga Garden’s ashes will, I’m quite sure, be beautiful and perfect.
Our final day of regular weekly classes will be Friday, May 15. We will gather for a closing ceremony and celebration on the afternoon of Sunday, May 17, with more details to be shared soon.
In the meantime, I warmly invite you to keep coming. Come practice. Come breathe together. Come rest in savasana beside familiar faces and new ones. Use your class passes. Try a class or teacher you haven’t yet practiced with. Let’s make these final weeks an intentional and heartfelt time of showing up for one another—present, embodied, and connected.
With deep love and gratitude,
Lexie
